Really wide, quite clear.. it will be great for landscape overseas travelling... this on a 5D am i right?

you are so right. it's not as sharp as you'd expect if u're used to the L lenses. i say this is quite similar to the sharpness of dp's 28-135 IS USM which basically means: cheap, light, acceptable image quality
