7 Jul. 2007.

Started off the day at 5.30 am to change my daughter's diapers. Then it was off to Changi Terminal 1 to sent my friend off. Here is what caught my eye most on this wet morning.

Are electronic stuff here so cheap as compared to India? Items in the photo are on the way to India.

My goodness! It's going to be expensive and dangerous to ship stuff just like that!

I am not sure. I actually talked to one Indian and they told me that HD LCD TV are expensive in India!!  Huh

I queried further wouldn't the customs at India impose a tax on those items? The reply: yes, the customs will impose a fee, but the overall cost (including the tax) is still cheaper compared to the local prices there!!  Huh He added that the Indian Customs will only impose tax on new model items. (which those in the photo above, are)

Someone from india told me that they buy from here to sell there. Just like how we do mass order in Singapore to get something oversea.

No Warranty lor!!! Grey set. For someone to sell a "non-india" brand, the tax is like 300% of the RRP in india. This is to protect their own brand.

14 Jul. 2007.

There were some sporting activities at Tampines Central. Wonder what was going on. See people playing basketball under a temporary tentage?

For dinner, went to Changi Terminal 1. Look at the queue at Popeye's Chicken & Buscuit!  Shocked

Here is a view from the top of Tampines Mall, looking down to the concourse area. Some retail company is having a sale down there.
