漂 means float, can also means drift.

this is an absolutely breathtaking dance.
the only regret is my room aint big enough to capture the entire sleeve.
I am thinking of booking a concert hall/theater to shoot this dance in the future.

i'm not good at B&W pics so please give your constructive comments generously.

This is also one of my sharpest jump shot pics for the day.
I like the motion blur created by the left sleeve.

hope you pals enjoy these recent series of dance pics as much as i do shooting them.
Happy Labour day:)

I think you hit the nail right on the head.  The B&W conversion needs work.
Based on what I see, the lightiing appears to be ok, the composition is good, the pose is very good, however, the b&w conversion lacks contrast, lacks focus and lacks most importtant of all, nothign jumps out at you.

Tell us how you did the conversion?

sigh....no matter what kind of bnw i convert, still sucks.i dont know why.

i did this conversion in CS3.apply a high contrast red filter.
it's the 'best' amongst all the filters found in cs3.

maybe i should have used lightroom.

I really like the 2nd one.  The body suits, at the cuffs of the leggings, as they are rolling up, is distracting.  If stirrups are not avalable, should used double sided tape.

Still, I felt the bodysuits/leggings are overkill to preserve modesty, since none was threaten.

added one more pic 5/5/07
PP to bring out the golden tan in her.that's why the color look a little more saturated.
constructive comments welcomed as usual.

took me about 25 shots to get this 'right'.(note the inverted commas)
had to fire when she's on her way down, so that the sleeve remains in the air.

hard work for her, but her professionalism never fails to impress me.
no complains, not a single drop of perspiration.

This is one of the best from all that you have shown... would love to have be able to see more of her sleeve though... perhaps the ends 'drifting' to show more grace... n the space at the bottom seem to unbalance the picture more than add to it. However it could be ok with the space if more of the sleeve was shown. exposure looks right on this picture. Perhaps you can also clone out the shadow on the left... having two shadows usually is not desired unless you have a specific look or feel you want...

Well.. lighting could be better... there is this slightly distracting shadow on her right shin caused by her dress. there is also shadow cast near her armpit area. and yes... the shadow i was referring to before is the one on the floor... if your room is not high enough. perhaps u can move he closer to the backdrop. that would also give u more space?

As UKay had commented, this one is best of the lot.

Nothing more to comment, except one about the background.

Take a look at the shadow just around her body?  Shouldn't be there.  How did it get there?

This was the first imperection that drew my attention.

However, this one is really nice.  You are very good in shooting dancers.

dp,  i sort of burned it a little to make the dancer stand out a little more.
else, she seem to 'blend' a little into the backdrop.

thanks for comments
