The Slik pro or benbo?

I will go with a Slik.

But personally, if you do not mind the price tag, go with a Gitzo, or at least a Manfrotto.

Slik is ok.

I think it also depends what you want to use ur tripod for? Each brand will have low to high end offerings anyway so maybe you might want to compare specific models instead.

I got the Victory 1000(imitation manfrotto) for $130 from TCW.Incl head.
Quite a steady tripod.Served me well so far.

The Manfrotto 055Pro can be had for around that price too.But its much heavier.Tho much steadier.

i am looking for something for macro works. Height of about 1.6 to 1.7 at least. Can't be too heavy as i am a lady. ( Afraid no strength, haha....)
Budget, HuhHuh but hope not too costly as just spend a lot on lens.
Weight , i am not sure, at the moment, just bought a 400D canon, 17-50mm lens, 100mm macro. in future wants to add, wide lens, zooms lens, flash & etc. So don't know how the weight needed?
Thanks for your help, sorry not good with it. Thanks.

truth be told, a 400D with a macro lens and a 580EX flash on top at best weighs so little, any ol tripod can handle it.

but if you're going low, down and dirty, i'd say a cheap entry would be a manfrotto tripod with a giottos ballhead.

If you're goin low.Make sure your tripod and head is steady enough to keep your camera at the same spot when you let go of it.Macro needs that amount of precision.ALso, note to get one that allows you to lift the legs up to lower the contre or gravity of the tripod.

Hi,

Anyone has recommendations for a tripod + ballhead? Any place in particular that has a wide variety?

Budget: $200-300
Weight: Not an issue as i would rather have something heavy and sturdy.
Setup: 20D + 70-200 would be the heaviest (would like something future-proof also if possible in case BBB virus hits)
Height: I am around 1.65m. Would like tripod + ballhead + cam to be around eye level without extending center column.

I was looking at either the Manfrotto 055/190 series for the legs.  Anyone has recommendation on ballheads or seen anywhere with a decent package deal?

Was thinking of going down to CP this weekend to try try buy buy....but hopefully by doing research in advance i wont cry cry when i get home.

Thanks!  Afro

PS: Other brands are fine too as long as they fit into budget. I am open to anything.

if you are mounted with a flash, why don't just hand hold?

I am using a Manfrotto 190, with benro head...just about there with 1D and 70-200 F2.8 and flash.Cost should be about $300 or less.
