Hi there,
I looking for someone to share night shooting techiniques with me. I am poor in this.
I have my canon powershot A640. If i would like to shoot in the room with no light but yet
i wanted to create the soft yellow light effect ( with the light provided ) if Im using Manual mode
what setting should tat be?  Huh

You can use both either the Tv or the Av mode. But since you most certainly will be using a tripod, then might as well use the Av mode so that you can control the DOF. Set the desired aperture, and let the camera meter itself and set the shutter speed.  Smiley

use the light to illuminate ur subject first, then let the in-camera metering take over..i don't think the A640 has Av/Tv mode, so just stick to the auto mode, flash off

i thought got the landscape or night shot mode? then just mount a tripod to it. since it's a small camera, i think even the cheapest of camera can hold it.

The A series of Canon PnS have Tv and Av....you can select from the menu. Smiley

thanks guys. Yes A640 do have AV, TV mode. Look like everything got to be Tripod and shutter.
