found out that when using mac to process photos, i'll get extra files appearing when i view the folder in windows

e.g. if i'm processing a pic GL9D1234, i'll see another file ._GL9D1234 which appears to do nothing except take up space..

anyone knows what kind of file is that?

nope...photoshop can't open that file, irfanview can't open it, other photo viewers cant open it either...the files are few KB each only

I think its the associated metadata file.

it's just meta data that the mac stores information about the file.
