Did a studio shoot this weekend in London ...
The studio was not fantastic ... but made do with the available lights.
But the model was very professional.

Hi Nick,

There is quite a fair bit more in this series .... But I am not here to showcase my work ....
I am looking for critique and comments ... good or bad .... It should be a learning and sharing platform ...
If there is no comments from all those that dropped in to take a look ... then not much point I carry on posting more ...

Sorry if i sound harsh .... Cheers.

ok... let me start...

using this first picture.

1st. Composition is off. cropping is off... i think this picture will dobeter with a square crop or a 4:3crop
2nd. Pose if off, she looks very uncomfortable.
3rd. The ball is a distraction more than anything else.
4th. The way she is squeezing her boobs... very unnatural
5th. Her skin looks blotchy. Di it properly or light her properly
6th. the lighting is completely off... I see three different shadows on her face... Maybe using one light you will achieve a much better effect...
7th. Good try... but honestly speaking. Its terrible... did you light her or someone else did?

This model has a nice physic, but you somehow managed to make her look unnatural and awkward...

Is this harsh for you? let me know if it is

Let's make it simple.  Less is usually more.  Less lights, less props, less hands squeezing things Smiley

The first thing that turned me off is how she squeezed her breasts.  Very unnatural.  Granted, sometimes, for what ever fcuk reason, boobs need to be covered up, but must doit natually.  99.9999% of such pictures, the pose ends up unnatural.

Less lights, as UK said, more lights, more problems.  A lighting master will be able to make many lights work together as one.  I am back to one light + one fill.  Simple is better.

The perspective is off also.  I never like these elongated look.  The sphere is a good idea, but the silver surface + reflection is distracting.

I think "beansprout" could take the c&c (truth is simply too harsh for him) -  picture of Kate has been removed!

Since picture is gone, no point talking about something we can't see.
