Just wondering...

Does it fit the 1D MkII?

And can AF still be used as per normal?

What about Auto exposure modes?

If cannot use for the 1D MkII, is there an equivalent screen to the Ec-S that will work in the 1D MkII, and is  retained?

Always see this screen mentioned for the 1D MkII N body ONLY.

Ec-S: Super Precision Matte *
An all-matte focus screen for the EOS-1D Mark II N with finer microlens structure than the standard screens. Out-of-focus areas show more vividly than with the other Ec type screens. It’s ideally suited for use with f/2.8 and faster lenses, especially for manual focusing.

* EOS-1Ds Mark III, 1D Mark III and 1D Mark II N must be set to Custom Function 00-2 for accurate exposure metering when this screen is installed. Manual exposure is required for use with other EOS-1 series cameras.

Thanks for replying Michael. Appreciate it.

Cp was like,"'We don't carry ANY", after the phone rang for over two minutes before someone answered. i've tried MS before, so I know they don't have.

Canon SG was even better. Called in the morning, they promised to call back. By after lunch, I called again and the same girl answered. She pai seh, say will check and call back. To her credit, she did call back, but had bad news, but promised to see where can get or how long to order, and was just about on the verge of swearing that someone will call back by today. No prizes for guessing - No call.

A friend alerted me that (surprise!), Orient Photo had, so I called and reserved one.

I went down, and they took it out for me (actually they had quite a few different ones but I didn't check their inventory lah!!!), let me install myself, test, test, test, test...I ask for a diff one; re-install, test, test, test, swap, test, test, swap, summor tests, and i finally settled on on the split-image screen.  kudos for OP.

I wouldn't mind getting the Ec-S later as a alternative though.  giggling...

Made a lot more sense - snap focusing was slightly quicker but distinctively more 'definite' than with the Ec-S. Believe me, I was all gung-ho to get the Ec-S  IHIH
