slowly lah..not many good ones.. as you noticed many OOF and over expose. Didn't know the light actually was rather bright! Should have used faster shuttle speed.  Where are your dance shots?

eh no more ah?

Well, I guess the lights are always pretty bright for fashion shows.I normally use Av mode, so if there are any sudden changes in lighting, the camera would compensate for it.
You gotta watch your background and how the words fall into the picture.Words or letters, sometimes fight for attention with your subject, so I wouldn't put it in if it werent meant to be in there.
I don't like the way you tilted the first picture. It just throws me off balance and I cannot understand the reason for the tilt.Doesn't work.

I think understanding what you wanna show with your pictures is also very important. You need a focal point in which to center your photos around. For eg, are you doing a study of their hairdo, their clothing, makeup, or posture...etc.With that then you can have a clearer picture of how you should compose your shots, how you can arrange different elements together to make your photo describe something.

Hope to see more pictures!

Cheers!

Thank you for the very informative comments!  No wonder i heard you won some kind of award....  Wink   IHIH
I guess in my case, my purpose is just to get a sharp and clear image with proper exposure and reasonably well compose shot with the  constraints i have.

I took these shots 'tactically' if you know what i mean.  I certainly agree with you about the tilting. I did it because i was severely blocked and i was trying to cramp everything into the frame to show 'something'-many models? On 2nd thought maybe not worth posting.. Huh

I also agree regarding the words in the background. I think i have one or two shots with a clear view of the words in the background and the model but i think the model is OOF or overexpose or ...   Again, if i can move freely to get a good  spot i guess i would not end up this kind of shots. My focus is on her overall clothing and her pose.  I only have 100mm.

My shots ever got mess up when i use Av mode. Problem with Av is, if the dress is too dark or the background is too bright/white then i need to adjust the compensation manually sometimes. I think its easier for me to adjust shutter speed on the fly.  350D metering/adjustment maybe more challenging?     Its much easier to shoot with faster shutter in this case. Base on past experience, i use the same shutter speed and i already lowered the iso from 800 to 400 but remain the same shutter speed as in the past. But didn't realise it is much brighter this time.

Thanks ..again...

hmm...why do you want to get all the models in one shot anyway?
