Archery that is.

Singapore Poly is having their 2008 Open Archery competition over this weekend at SG Poly - Football field. Some of my friends will be competing.

Normally, these events take place from about 9am - 4 or 5 pm, with a long lunch break in between.

Target, olympic style archery is fairly static, so the attraction/challenge is to photograph archers as they shoot in a visually striking manner, or if you like, shoot candid moments, as well as try to capture moments of glory, or agony.  giggling...

Saturday the kiddies are shooting, and Sunday is the Open category where more advanced archers will be shooting at longer distances. Morning will be the ranking rounds where you will find tons of archers along the line, and afternoons after lunch is usually for individual knock-out as well as team events.

I would probably go down late Sun am or early Sun afternoon if it's not raining. Let me know if you would like to meet up then we can hoot the hooters together!

There is no obligation to give photos, but if you want to share them, also can lah.

Woah KEWL!

Mabbie you can organise an archery outing for CG one of these days!

Alamak, the competition is tomorrow and Sunday lah.

Anyways, anyone can drop by and as long as you don't disturb the archers when they are shooting, it will be OK. Lenses from 15mm to 200mm should suffice. I doubt if the officials will let anyone go beyond the shooting line to photograph the archers when they are shooting.
