Thanks to Victor's generous offer of an exclusive ticket, I managed to go to this event early yesterday.

Was busy with an overseas guest after, and didn't have time to go through all the pix, select, edit, upload and post, so here's just a few to share:

A wide vista of endless tarmac and an impressive exhibition building greets visitors upon entrance of the Changi Exhibition Center

Coming up closer, the throngs of dedicated personnell from the various branches of the SAF can be seen as a cohesive force of co-ordinated effort. In virtually non-military garb, many of the young and good looking personnel resemble junior college students

A BIG Salute greets guests as they make their way into the open exhibition area

Even the Apache with the Long Bow radar was in attendance to cast an impressive air to the preview

Happy families and even couples suffering from Valentine's Day hangover were to be seen at the sprawling grounds

As the weather was not very co-operative with low cloud cover, annoucements that a last-minute change of strategy caused some delays making the crowds to look all over the skies anxiously, and in the distance, swooping in with silent deadliness, was the prelude to the esteemed Black Knights - all six of these precision pilots were creating a formation never seen at any airshow.

Alas, after only a slight delay, the Black Knights made their appearance in precision formation

Apart from the various 6 member formation, twin aerobatics got the crowd ooh-ing and ahh-ing

But sometimes, it's even more impressive to be on your own

And just when everyone thought that the show was over, the BIG GUN OF THE DAY was finally revealled...

Looks like a Sigmon on a Canon on top of wicked stick masterfully manipulated by it's mistress.

Were you there today?

If not, you might find two bods handy - a 300mm/1.4X for frame-fitting close-ups of single jets, and another one fitted with a moderate 70-200 zoom for flexibility in framing the entire formation.

KEWL.

Thanks Michael.

Didn't want anyone here to be 'inconvenienced' in any way.  Wink

OOPS! Just saw your post. Not sure if you were referring to my pix, or the flying.

At any rate, the jets are going slow enough for you to think about composition and how you could edit a pix for presentation. But, if you were only referring to the flying ... ahh ...

for morning you mean. i just came back around 0030, guess my hair has dried. going to sleep soon. Smiley

anyway, thanks for the pictures, it gave me an idea of what to expect.

however, i doubt they'll be flying as low or as slow next week if the weather isn't as cloudy or low.

Low and slow they can't avoid because they're the usual 'ang kongs' at any airshow with public attendance, but if the weather is good, expect some nice fast and furious thrusting up and into the skies.

Nitey nite Mikey.

That's not a Pave Low, which we don't have any and don't have plans to acquire. That's an Apache with the Long Bow radar.

hey! I see the Leopard 2A4 behind the Flyer (jeep-junior). how come never take photo of it? The big gun you were showing should be the LWSPH which is a 39-calibre (only) 155mm howitzer. it is actually considered small compared to the FH2000 which is 52-calibre 155mm.

The Leopard 2A4 has a Rhinemetal L44 120mm smooth bore cannon, similar to that used on the M1 Abrams.
