Your lens is miserable what... 17-40, while I'm having a 28-80. 

Although I may be picky about using an EOS 5D and L lenses, I think the 8mp KM camera and it's 2.8-4.5 lenses still bring some joy in photography. Yes, it may hunt. Yes, it may focus slowly. Yes, the image size may not be as big. Yes, it may be a lot noisier. But who cares? It's cheap, it's small, it's fun and it goes unnoticed.

Its not exactly cheap, its not exactly small, and it goes obviously goes unoticed because you did a good job of concealing it...I can do that with any other camera as well....
