The first one would have had a better effect if you stepped back a bit more and captured the top. Although they are cut off, based on your title, I can roughly guess that it's the zodiac animals, correct? You might want to correct the lines, make them vertically straight in photoshop?

Both of them were taken at normal standing eye level? It becomes quite boring after sometime - cos its always eye level perspective. Also, to give it more impact, perhaps u need to go closer or use a telezoom, focus on facial expression/words. But since he is a stranger... i guess its difficult unless you have a long/tele lens.

The second one was shot off a distance, zooming in while the uncle is chatting with another person and I quickly snap off before he caught me.
