A chance to capture the last remaining nostalgic and laid-back places of Singapore, Pulau Ubin.

The proposed date is *Saturday 16 February 2008. Highlight will be the visit to one of Singapore's richest ecosystems, Chek Jawa.

pls check properly...16th feb is not open to public, the whole place will be locked...
is suppose to be high tide...go there see wat???

no one is allowed to enter without tour guide...this is what i last known....unless they change the rule la which i dont think so...

the lowest tide for 16th is 1.3 metre from 8am to 9am..

so must prepare diving gear to take photos...

I do not think that the rules have been changed. And I also didn't know it's closed on the 16th.

The place should not be closed, but I will check with my guys and revert, just in case it REALLY is closed for some VVIP visit or something.

Anyway, the lowest tide on the 16th will be 0.8m ard noon time (hence the RV time of 10am at Changi jetty). Not that low really, but low enough to get some seabed shots. And btw, the guided tours are to get down and walk on the seabed. the last I know it will cost $60 for a group. no need tour if just get in and walk on the broadwalk.

My intention for the visit was only to go to Ubin and capture scenic and landscape shots but if there is a real interest to go shoot macro of the eco-systems at Chek Jawa, perhaps someone can proceed to arrange. details are all available in the Nparks webby.
