Pros: Excellent image quality.
        Good colour rendition.
        Acceptable focussing speed.

Cons: Vignetting at wide open.
         Barrel distortion.
         Built feels fragile.

Don't need the f1.2L but wanted something better than the f1.8. This is a nice little bright lens for general photography and its even better when paired upwith a FF body. Image quality is acceptable at wide open but there is vignetting. Very good colour rendition given the right conditions. I use this lens mostly for building details and abstract pattern at mid range distances. The ability of resolving building details is unmatched.

The built, no doubt is better than the f1.8 but its still something I would consider fragile. A slightly wobbling lens barrel is not really instilling much confidence either but then again, I don't use it in Afganistan. For that matter, lack of protection against dust and the element is not of utmost concern to me too.

Barrel distortion is noticed when straight lines are placed near the edges but not something you should be overly concerned with.

This lens just work the way it was built to, at a relatively reasonable price.
