How is it carnivorous? Interesting.

Anyway, looks like you have more depth of field at your disposal but chose f/4.5 instead. I thought a smaller aperture might work better, especially to get the insect in better focus.

I like the zoom out image. It has an artsy feel.

the aperture I think is a mistake. was messing with full manual and high speed flash in order to blacken the bright background. probably dialled the wrong dial. can't get too close because of the rest of the sticky leaves, and crazy focusing due to breeze.
