Hi dudes,

need your opinion & help here...

I've bought a EF 400mm f5.6 lens yesterday & am putting it through its paces to test for sharpness. (The shop, John 3:16 had agreed that if the bought copy is soft, I can return to them & exchange for a sharp copy)

So far, I've only managed to test night shots, with & without a teleplus 2x tc & will do more testing tomorrow in bright daylight environment.

Attached are the pics for your review & comments as to the sharpness...

With 2x tc

Without 2x tc & cropped

Thanks

I'm not good at this but I'd say soft.

I don't think a subject a few gazillion kilometers away is the best test subject. I may be wrong on this though.

lol..this lens is not a telescope. for a subject that far away, there is bound to be blur due to camera shake. just shoot something across the street for testing purposes.

Like some Alfred Hitchcock movie ... or the latest SG-made thriller - 'Vauyar at 400mm!'  Laugh till drop
