I'm also considering the 70-300 IS, if it can deliver the results I want. Price is good too. Used to have the 28-135 IS and it was really decent. Wonder how the 70-300 IS compares.....

never could find it anywhere. only found one at a 2nd hand shop but they didn't allow testing...

yeah, avoid the DO, get the normal USM IS one... try it out.. i borrowed it once for a swimming competition. shots quite shiok
