Err...I think it is the same as the benro ball head. Think is the OEM manufacturer. Did not hear very positive remarks on this ball head.

Klose, you will eventually end up with an arca swiss.  So, why are you wasting money now?

Without getting esoteric or too costly, I suspect even the mid-range stuff like Manfrotto Ballheads will suffice for most applications up to 300mm. Old school Italian workmanship and materials.  Very Good My old 141 pan and tilt which generally goes for S$40 - S$50 used was rock solid enough for macro still-lifes but a pain to use. Worked wonderfully with no dip or droop even with the heaviest EF 70-200. The geared heads might be better. Lord knows the larger ones are huge and weight a ton!

For electronic and mechanical things, you get what you pay for - in general. How much can one get for $65 or $75?

I rather spend $1000 for things that work then 1 cent for something that do not work!

Just need one to bash about while in Japan. Will sell it off to someone in UNSW after that

How about the Makin M10L Ball head with a Gitzo? Is the arca swiss comparable with the M10 performance wise my max load should be around 5-6kg
