Folks,

If you have used the M80 before, care to share some experience? ie LCD quality, ease of use, reliability & etc.  I'm looking for similar device that can view and store a great deal of images.

I have seen this, its selling at $1000, very expensive IMHO. The screen resolution isn't that great too. Can check out this new product JOBO it can read Raw, Available with three different storage capacities – 80GB, 120GB and 160GB the U.S. retail prices are $599, $749, and $899 respectively.

http://www.shutterbug.net/news/121207jobo/ will be in SIN in 2008 at CP only.

I do believe the most important thing for any storage device is reliability.

That means, 100% successful CF card transfer, 100% data error free and a very long battery life.

CF 8GB - $120, scare what?

Be evaluative lor. Even if I had shot so many jargon stuff, it was a far cry from when i started digital. Everything also shoot. NNB.

It's very hard to find good reviews of this item. Seems like the Epson 3000/4000/5000 is rated much higher than this.

Cheers,

I have the M80, I purchased in Tokyo-Yodabashi for about US$500.
Works like mp3/mp4 player as well with AV outs

Pros:
Uses Canon BP511 which I have abundance of
80GB capacity, compatibility with canon formats (epson 80GB is 20-30% more expensive)
Screen is nice and bright
Very bling as it loks exactly like a canon slr without a lens.
Menu system and button layout is intuitive for canon user
Seems more robustly built then epson

Cons (in relation to Epson):
screen smaller then epson
seems to be slower then epson in image viewing mode

Very bling…

giggling... And that is as good as any reason to get a gadget…

I like the fact that the M80 uses the BP511 (or 514) battery as well. The last thing I need is yet another set of charger and batteries.
