Last Call, Hort Park

Yet another Hort Park post. Since I went down with Klose and Michael, and they've both posted pictures, I thought it'd be my turn.
First time posting pictures here, but please be honest. There's no consoling away crap.

The last one is those proper abstract/closeup shots that I like. The first one, I understand what you're trying to do but the green plant fails to live up to expectations. The second one, I am lost.

#1 - Even though it's a focal point, it still fails to draw enough attention due to the weak colours therefore giving less impact on the over all image.Either increase the saturation of the leaves or enlarge the image by cropping.
#2 - Crop is there but angle is wrong. Try taking from a level perspective or low to high. Also use a smaller aperture so the background is blurred out.
#3 - My favourite of the entire series. The abstractness and simplicity of the colours are effective in generating interest. Good balance and use of lighting here.

#1 - Noted.
#2 - Yes, I also thought the background wasn't bokeh-y enough. This is one of those times where f/1.8 would've been useful.
#3 - Thanks.
