Pardon me but I it's a tiny bit OOF. Reference point seems to be bridge of the nose rather than the iris.

Thanks Klose for looking but my camera info doesn't say so.  Focus is on her right eye.  Smiley

DOF is intentional.  Idea was to isolate the eyes while blurring the rest a bit.  It was shot while she was looking up and me shooting downwards.  Thanks kel.

I would say the sharpness of the eyes are not noticeable on such a small image. It appears to be sharp slightly above the eyes, where the edges/tips of the strands of hair are at. Nonetheless, any image would be better reinforced by sharpening the eyes a bit as well as blurring the rest of the face. She has a warm smile with sincere eyes that is enhanced by shooting her while she is looking upwards.

Thanks for reposting a larger image.

If you say it's the right eye, it's definitely OOF. The left eye is very sharp but not the right. For the right, focus is more on the eye lashes. It's good to use a Shallow DOF but make sure you have ample light. In this image, I see lots of shadows which leads to patchy skin tones.

her right eye is as you said. shallow dof is one thing, but she is tilted a bit towards the right, so that contributes to the problem as well

And that is the problem.  You focused on one eye, bu the dof is not really shallow enough.

If you want this kind of an effect, the opposite eye better be really out of the dof zone.  If that is what you want.

As presented, the picture really CMI.

However, do shoot more, make more mistake, and that is the surest way to learn photogrpay.

Happy shooting.
